Hello everyone, My name is Anne Juré.My major is French. I love Litterature, poetry, writting. I am not so " high tech". But I am learning. I am confident, willing to learn tools and strategies to improve my technology skills. I am ready to discover new knowledge as I am walking through that new experience. My blog will be a space for sharing thoughts, strategies to make learning interesting in school. It is about integrating technology in school as a new approach to teach in the 21st century.
I really enjoyed your pictures! You looked at it from a totally different viewpoint than I did myself. I usually discuss and point out many of the flaws involving technology, but I enjoyed how your picture emphasizes how technology is helping as well. It helps people of all different nationalities, languages, ethnicities, countries etc... to communicate with each other. The United States is a huge melting pot, and technology has helped us to adapt to those changes. Very creative outlook and picture!
I agree with Lorraine, that picture is very positive. I like how in the picture its not just giving the message that we can just use computers for all the answers. The picture has the teacher almost pointing out to use the computer as a facilitator. The boy is also sitting on a stack of books, maybe symbolizing the fact that his research on the computer is based upon everything he is learning. The books are the foundation for his research.
Although many students may not use the computer the way us teachers want them to, it definitely is a tool that improves our education systems tremendously. It's amazing how people can learn anything they want to online. They can learn to speak a different language by the click of a button. I like the idea of all the different nationalities in your picture. With the amount of diversity in our country, the computer serves as a very handy tool.
This picture is wonderful and so positive! It is great to show the potential technology has in our future, regardless of the fear of too much reliance. While technology is so important, it is crucial that there is a balance in the classroom. So while I do agree that technology is limitless and free, it is essential not to get too carried away!
I also appreciate the refreshingly positive attitude that your picture has towards technology - I think we have all been a little skeptical of technology lately. Your picture reinforces the idea in my mind that increased technological advancements have created a global society and marketplace. Regardless of our personal feelings about technology, it is obviously hear to stay, so we should make the most of it!
This picture is great for a number of reasons. First, you incorporated your content area of World Languages. You included the flags which hints at the conncetivity technology provides. As a French teacher it must be great that students from France and American can converse from thousands of miles away in an instant. Secondly, I like how this image depicts technology in a useful light. rather than underlining the negative aspects of technology which many of us are likely to do, myself included, you concentrated on the positive factors of technology. Lastly, you show that learing can be done on computers. You use the classical image of the teacher and the blackboard and incorporate it with the student in front of the computer, symbolizing the possibilities that come with technoogical learning.
